The Support department is responsible for all aspects of support to new clients and Guestline’s existing 1400 customers.
This position will be working in the “Additional Work Department” which is part of the Support Desk. The role of the Additional Work Department is to undertake tasks that land outside of customers’ support contracts, such tasks include:
- Installation / Reinstallation of Guestline software
- Installation / Reinstallation of SQL Server software
- Installation / Reinstallation of Guestline interfaces linking to 3rd party systems
- Upgrades to existing Guestline software on customer hardware
- Guestline software migrations (moving from our older Guestline system to new Rezlynx system)
- Guestline software configuration changes
- Produce / update installation and upgrade documentation
Part of the role will include troubleshooting and providing recommendations on hotel server / workstation / networking when required to ensure the Guestline products are installed in a secure and optimal environment but the vast majority of the role is concentrated around Guestline products.
The ability to work effectively within a team environment and also on your own initiative with the ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbal, will be key qualities of the successful candidate.

Prior experience in the following areas would be considered an advantage
- Microsoft desktop operating systems (XP / 7 / 8.1)
- Microsoft server operating systems (2003 / 2008 / 2012)
- Microsoft Excel
- Networking (O/S level)
- SQL Server or other database platforms
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm (with some flexibility expected) plus overtime.
Location: Guestline office (Shrewsbury) with the possibility of occasional onsite visits.
